Poppet the Dog is the main character in this exciting new children's book series. The stories contained in each book are based on the real Poppet the Dog who lives in Wisconsin with her owners. Poppet's stories and adventures are comical and lively, but also teach many important lessons on responsibility, how to deal with fears and apprehensions, the reality of loss as well as the joy of achieving goals and learning new things.
Each book in the series has colorful pictures that help to convey the story to a wide variety of age groups, ranging from five to ten year olds. The books also contain new and challenging vocabulary words to stretch and extend the reader's use of language.
The 'Poppet the Dog' series is written and illustrated by Karen Cove, an elementary school teacher and free lance writer. Karen and her husband adopted Poppet from a local humane association and are living happily in a small Wisconsin village. "Poppet has brought us so much joy. She makes us laugh each and every day," states Karen with a smile.
